Greetings Lost Media Wiki Forum. I’m trying to find something that’s been on my mind for years and yet I haven’t been able to find any trace of. I’m trying to find two web animations about a bee who drank too much honey and nectar. The animations looked like they were flash-animated and I remember watching them when I was in grade school (anywhere from 1st to 4th grade) in the early 2010s, though it’s possible the animations are older than that.
The first animation starts with a bee whose name I don’t remember. He spots a flower and flies over to it, then starts drinking the nectar from the flower. As he drinks, his behind (the part where his stinger is) starts swelling like a balloon and drags him down. By the time he stops drinking, he’s too heavy to fly, so two other bees have to come and fly him home. The last shot of the animation is of the main bee being flown away and hoisted by the two other bees, with one on his left and the other on his right. As they fly away, the main bee says something along the lines of “Saved again” and the story ends. The second animation is much like the first, except this time the bee drinks honey from a jar and falls into the jar when he gets too heavy. He can’t fly out of the jar and I think he gets himself stuck in the opening while trying to escape. The two bees come to his rescue again and the story ends with them flying into the evening sky and the bee repeating that “Saved again” phrase. I think these stories were meant to convey a moral.
As I said, the animations looked like they were done with flash. They were also told in a storybook format, by which I mean that the story was presented to the viewer one page at a time and the viewer would advance through each page to advance the story. Each page had an image or animation that showed something going on the story and below the image/animation was some text that described what was happening in the picture. The user could advance to the next page by clicking an arrow at the corner of the screen. I don’t remember what website I found this on, but the closest thing I can relate it to is Starfall.com. If you grew up in the 2000s and had computers in your school, then there’s a chance you’ve heard of Starfall. However, I don’t think the animations are from there because I searched the site and couldn’t them, though my search wasn’t an exhaustive one.
This is my second time presenting this case to the internet. I first tried Reddit with r/TOMT and r/HelpMeFind, but I couldn’t find any help there. I also sought help from their Discords but to no avail. Hopefully this time it will be different.
