What are some deleted scenes that you thought were terrible and were better off removed from the final film, and what others do you think should’ve stayed? I’m not just saying “I wish it stayed, but I see why they cut it”, but more like a deleted scene in which you feel that it’s removal genuinely made for a poorer final film.
It could also be a more minor trim, like an extra/alternate line, and you can also include deleted scenes that are considered lost media or otherwise have not been officially released.
These aren't deleted scenes per se but the remaster of Last of Us 2 included some lost levels that got scrapped from the final game, they're interesting but I can understand why the Sewer and Boar Hunt levels got cut as they don't really add a lot to the game, the Jackson Party on the other hand I think absolutely should've been included, the devs main argument for not putting it in the game was because the Jackson Party cutscene didn't happen until near the end of the game and by that point they felt like an extended section of light-hearted mini-games would've been too much of a distraction from the main plot. However I think they made a mistake in putting the Jackson party sequence so late in the game to begin with(especially given how prominently it was featured in the trailers)I think it should've been closer to the start of the game, that way an entire sequence with fun mini-games and interacting with people at the party wouldn't have help like it slowed down the pacing so much.
There's actually an uncut version of The Office being released now on Peacock called Superfan that has all of the deleted scenes re-integrated back into the episodes, some do add some laughs but others you can see why they got cut, same with the deleted scenes from 30 Rock.
Cat in the Hat has a funny extended scene of The Cat pretending to be a rug only to get stepped on repeatedly(and even gets a cigarette burned on him)I think that absolutely should've been in the film, and there's an extended sequence of him using his device to "measure" the kids personalities that should've kept as one line later on in the film makes no sense due to it's removal, on the other hand the numerous versions of a deleted scene of Thing 1 and Thing 2 stalling the kids mom from getting home while amusing didn't really impact the plot overall so I can see why they eventually decided to abandon them.
For me the biggest example is the alternate ending of How I Met Your Mother, it's so far superior to the terrible ending we got on TV that it boggles my mind how it wasn't chosen instead.

Yeah. The scene where the cat does a doctor checkup on the two kids also explains what he meant towards the end where he told sally “But you’re still smoking way too many cigars.”
I actually added all of those deleted scenes (except the 3 different versions of things 1 and 2 orchestrating a flood, since I didn’t know when they were supposed to take place) back into the movie as a fan edit, including the tv exclusive scenes, which came out to 92 minutes.
Also, I somehow thought the scene where the cat jumped around outside their house and stretched his arm to close the door was in the movie, but it just turned out to be a deleted scene. It was just the Mandela effect at play.

Also a few of the deleted scenes for Ghostbusters 2016, particularly The Breakup, The Mayors Office, So Glad You Came Back, and a few others, but especially the breakup. The removal of that scene genuinely made the film worse, because it just made the film feel like something was missing, if that makes any sense. In the extended cut, it was replaced with the blogger scene, which imo was kinda mediocre.
Also, the extended cut is better in multiple areas, like Patty’s alternate line regarding the 4th cataclysm.
Theatrical cut: “That sounds like a franchise nobody ever wanted.”
Extended cut: “What they gonna do, make a 5th one starring the rock?”

Yeah I thought about Amazing Spider Man 2, that film has to have a broken a record for the amount of scenes in the trailer that aren't in the actual movie. Speaking of which i'm glad that stupid twist involving Peter's dad wasn't in the final film as it makes him look like a horrible parent and feels horribly contrived but I do wish the scenes with Mary Jane were in the final film.
Planes, Trains and Automobiles had a number of scenes that should've been in the final film(especially the explanation of Del's tragic backstory)but there were others that were funny but nonessential(likewise the deleted scenes of Uncle Buck that we have so far were funny but didn't really advance the plot). I'm also annoyed that one scene involving a nude swim teacher skinny-dipping in Breakfast Club wasn't in the final film, still hoping that shows up as a deleted scene one of these days.
Been elaborated on in another thread, but I WISH we had gotten some version of The Golden Compass movie that wasn't bland as dishwater (TLDR; a LOT changed in the development of the movie, including multiple deleted scenes). Yes, I do know the HBO series did a much better job at adaptation, but I am simply curious as to what the original movie could have looked and felt like.
I LOVE the concepts of Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2, not so much the execution. I know a lot changed too in that movie's direction and left the original director ashamed of the final product. The movie as a whole was so botched, that I would love to have seen his original vision in full.

Well, the first a longer version of Conrad preparing and getting all the stuff he needs to slide down the stairs, as well as an additional scene of Sally listing some prior prank attempts, such as “Look at my Flying Carpet!” or “I can eat a whole jar of pickles!” or “Those bee’s can’t sting me!”
Another was an extended version of Larry trying to convince the kids mother to put Conrad in military school, by claiming that it “made me the handsome, charming man you see before you now.”
Another is during the scene where the cat hides on the roof and scratches his ass to try and get Larry out of the house. There’s an extra 9-second clip right after Larry asks “is there a cat in here?” in which sally responds trying to act oblivious, and Conrad tries to do some Dr. Seuss-esque rhymes “No cat has been her, neither skinny nor fat, right there’s no scat, we never saw that.” Prompting Larry to call them both freaks.
There’s also an extended version of the cat’s “lone wolf” speech to Sally: “Hey! You’re a lone wolf. You live alone, die alone. Sometimes makes me wish I wasn’t so popular. Constantly surrounded by friends, bathed in love, cherished memories, it’s a pain. Yeah.”
There’s also an extended version of the cat “realizing” he has the wrong hat, in which Conrad points out “But it says “made in the Philippines”, with the cat claiming that it was unfortunately their Philippines, adding onto the earlier joke of the crate saying “made in the Philippines.”
There’s also an extended version of the things choking each other in front of the mom, after the slide scene. (This is why I didn’t restore the flood scenes, since I assumed they were replaced by the police scene instead.)
It also includes some deleted scenes that have already been released, like the doctors checkup, and also includes a more finished version of some other deleted scenes, like the Cat being deathly terrified of Nevins and the other scene where he hops around outside and then stretches his arm to close the door.

What sucks about that deleted scene is the fact it wasn’t included when they released those 75 minutes of deleted/extended scenes. We also still don’t have the state trooper scene, the extended ending, or the subplot of Susan believing neal was cheating on her. (The last one sounds awful tbh).
I wonder if these scenes are either still lost, or if they’re just being saved for the 40th anniversary or something.

Yeah while I do unironically like Blair Witch 2(still better then the original as it didn't give me a splitting headache like that one did with it's obnoxious shaky-cam and once you take away the whole "was it real?" gimmick there's nothing special at all about that film, the 2016 remake/reboot/whatever and the crappy video game tie-ins are proof enough of that IMO)I am curious how it would've turned out had the director gotten to do his true vision, perhaps reviews would've been better.

I don’t think I’ll be able to, but would it be okay if I just sent you the individual additions/changes from this cut on their own?
