As someone who's read Pilkey's works religiously as a kid, I'm pretty sure this and another book he claimed to be working on (The other being a sequel to Ook & Gluk) were both fake. It was making fun of all the spinoff graphic novels he had wrote that year, and that he was taking a break from the Captain Underpants series. Which is what fans were clamoring a continuation of. If there's one thing you need to know about Pilkey, much like George and Harold, he's a Pranker. He can say he's making something for laughs, but it isn't actually happening. This is a case of "Nonexistent Media" rather than lost. It never existed in the first place. 



(Edit: Another thing I'm just now realizing is how there's no way in hell Schoolastic would have been okay with him publishing a book called "Farts". Honestly, I can't believe people actually think this was a thing at some point. There's just no way he would have gotten away with making a book with that kind of title. It's actually really funny when you think about it lol-)

HOLY CRAP I REMEMBER THIS!

I remember thinking it was awesome how the creator of Captain Underpants, Super Diaper Baby, and Ook and Gluk was making a film of sorts. I always assumed it released and I just never saw it.

It was banned for having “asian stereotypes” which I can see but still-

dav pilkey was in a captain underpants hiatus after the eighth book due to looking after his dying father, so this probably resulted in F.A.R.T.S and other spinoffs being cancelled.
