I just found out that Nicholas Federov has deleted many of his videos and other content and has ceased to be on social media as a whole, and claims he has moved to a house with his Fiance somewhere after acquiring a lot of money. This happened a month ago, and much of his content has been found, but I am putting out a call here to see if anyone has some of his stuff that may be gone, as it seems that not many people have talked about his disappearance as it seems he has asked many people to not recover his videos as to preserve his reputation. Some people are saying he was a homophobe, so I assume something big went down under most of our noses. www.youtube.com/watch?v=WvewHSgshvM He was made famous from a Chadtronic video about him, but the parts of the video that included clips of his videos are now removed, too.
That's unfortunate. I really liked his The Computer music video. Too bad I didn't save it because of that.
That one's still up, luckily. Some of his stuff was on a channel that died before he closed his channel, "Grand Channel" here is an obscure video that managed to make it from that channel of his: www.youtube.com/watch?v=THHHenDtiC0
I actually still have one of the Grand Channel videos (although not made by Nicholas), "spongeskate test". A few months after I uploaded it to YouTube, weirdly enough the creator of the video took it down. I still have the file on my hard drive though.

hm. I'd say share it in a megaupload file so other people can pass it around.
I just heard about this, and I'm... kinda heartbroken. I think I still have his old Discord profile. I'll see if I can talk to him about reuploading his old videos again.
That just leaves the videos that aren't featured in the .tar, along with his Devinatart, SoundCloud and Twitter.
Nice find. Thanks. Sad to see he deleted his channel as a whole, but it's quite odd how he still kept access to it, after claiming he was going to abandon online life altogether.

This really sucks. There's a lot of people out there try to do these randomness 90s-early 2000s software inspired videos for the sake of being creepy or something, but Nicholas' work seemed to have some sort of genuineness to them even when utter nonsense. Mostly due to the fact he actually used software and hardware from the past to make his works. Probably an old SoftImage build for all the 3d work if I had to guess. I think his stuff was converted onto VHS before being made digital, too? Much different than all the simple things people make in Blender or whatever it is they do.
It's a shame he got pissed at his stuff being devoured by kiddies. Can't help wonder what he's making to this day, if he's even doing stuff like this anymore. Somehow going into seclusion in the country almost kind of fits.
If you're out there Nicholas, hopefully we hear from you again some day. Your work really puts me in a weird mood nothing else that tries to imitate this style comes close to.
You know, one thing I'm curious about is what Text-to-Speech voices Nicholas used in his videos. All I know is that he used vintage technology to recreate that unsettling VHS vibe as much as he could. I remember asking him on Twitter, but he never responded.
