(Note: This is more about an unidentified artist/source.)
So on Instagram I follow a pretty popular user called @cd_masterizzato. I do not have a good explanation of what their work is without it sounding confusing. It's better to check their posts out.
Anyway, in one of their less popular non-reel/video posts, they posted this image within their typical sequences:
At first, I didn't think anything of it other than a random drawing of an owl. But on the next time I saw it, I noticed the goggles, the eyes... It's Timekeeper Cookie from CookieRun: OvenBreak, as an owl! Presumably being picked up by Croissant Cookie as a human. Now, since this is definitely fanart that has been reposted by a big account without any credit or watermark, I want to give the credit it deserves. But I cannot find it at all!! I've tried TinEye and Google Lens and they gave me no results regarding the original post. Is there any other way to figure out who drew this?
They said they got this image from Google Images, which doesn't help that much.
Hmm, did they know it was fanart? Possibly searching for "illustrations of owls" might yield something?
It's likely that they didn't know it was fanart, most of the images they use for their work are like stock photos. I'm currently putting up searches like "sketch of owl wearing a hat black and white" but I also think the search could be slightly easier if we look through Timekeeper Cookie tags on websites like Pinterest or Tumblr.

Yeah I definitely think pinterest for sure. Maybe weheartit as well?

I looked through what I believe is the entire Timekeeper Cookie tag on Pinterest, but I couldn't find the image or anything else in a similar art style. I can't be entirely sure bc I never use Pinterest so I'll search through it again later. To give more context regarding the art, the Timekeeper owl isn't really being picked up. It's referencing a popular image about how owls have longer legs than expected, to which many drawings from different fandoms drew about. Just to be more specific about what kind of images we're looking for.
I tried searching the image through Saucenao as well but came up empty. Since it appears to be cropped, I'm now realizing reverse image searching will likely not do much good..
I also briefly looked through Tumblr, but unfortunately you can only get so far until you hit the obligatory account creation wall. Have you considered trying art sharing sites from countries outside the US such as Pixiv?
How about you? How will you live a life that faces death?

Now that you mention it, the image looks like there could be a previous illustration of Timekeeper owl sitting normally as implied by the action arrow.
I just looked through Timekeeper Cookie tag on Pixiv and found nothing. It could be from the way more broad Cookie Run tags but going through it on any site is like finding a grain of sand within the ocean.

Yes, a lack of consistent tagging being a potential issue is what makes these sorts of things difficult. That and a near unending amount of social sites to scour, much less so if the art goes without tags at all..

Unbelievably, Bing Image Search of all things did the trick.
This is almost definitely where cd_masterizzato got the image from, and the reason image searching didn't help before is probably because doing the square crop left a bit of the tail in the bottom left corner, so they covered it up in Photoshop or similar.
That links to a cookie run community on VKontakte, a Russian social media platform, which is probably why nobody could find the image on American social media sites.
I can't find the exact source, but this is certainly progress. We now have conclusive evidence that there is an additional panel here.
Unfortunately, this lead dries up quickly because VKontakte will repeatedly pester you to create an account when trawling their website, and you need a +7 phone number to create an account (mine, being American, is a +1).
Rephrasing search terms in Russian may be helpful.

Thank you so much for finding this! I honestly thought this would be a cold search. I'll definitely use bing image search the next time a similar situation like this comes up again!
