FULL TITLE: Will Dutch animation finally get recognition due to what's happening to the animation industries of USA & Japan?
I've watched 2 videos, both about animation seemingly becoming doomed, specifically for the USA(SPECIFICALLY California) & Japan. Basically, outside of the indie scenes, nothing's going all that great for those industries as of now despite SOME successful movies & shows:
California, USA(The Roundtable):
Japan(booba tea):
Considering everything going on, I have 2 hands on this: On one hand, I am saddened by all of this happening, especially with corporates who decide to be greedy jerks & going for super cheap options, not caring about their workers, works or fans of animation(and in case of anime, just hiring crappy translators for cheap & instead of hiring GOOD translators because THAT would be expensive, they go with the AI thing to further cut costs, as if underpaying their animators wasn't bad enough). On the other hand, could the Netherlands finally get a chance? Sure, not many people live there, but their society seems stable enough & they've made animated shows/movies/etc. before & I love stuff like Purno de Purno & The Bluffers, so I could see them deciding to use what's going as an opportunity to rise & make more truly creative, interesting & marvelous animations for us to enjoy!
Now I hope that some lesser US states could pick up the dust as well as already seen with the indie scene, but in a studio sense, as in actual animation studios in say, Connecticut, Delaware, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, etc. If not, then I, for one, welcome our new Dutch overlords!
Dreams are boundless, imaginations are infinite, space is a multi-directional spiral & Akazukin ChaCha is my favorite anime
