I have tried to scour the Internet on a few occasions and have had no luck along with none of my friends seeming to remember Mambo for a Spy. When Austin Powers was due to premiere on TBS June 4, 2000, there was a parody of the song Mambo No. 5 created that was well done and had a bunch of clips from the movie. I had a portion of the full song on a VHS tape back in the day but it is long gone. I can remember as a kid visiting the TBS website and finding the song there, but it wasn't the full version. I don't believe the full version was as long as the Mambo No. 5 song, but it was longer than just a 20 second commercial. I've tried the wayback machine on TBS and have been unsuccessful. Does anyone have a copy of this song and video? It had to have aired in May leading up to the premiere in June at some point. I can remember TBS airing James Bond movies up to the premiere and remember the portion I had taped being during an airing of "For Your Eyes Only." I think this would be a great piece of media to find since, like I said, it seemed to be a full blown song parody and not just a short little commercial.
Just when you think you made it to the top, I'm the last thing standing in your way.
I suppose it's possible that it could exist in one of those commercial compilation videos, but any of the ones that I've scrubbed through that are close-ish to the date hasn't had it. There exists a video of commercials that aired during the premiere date, but just like my memory of having taped it, the parody song never played during the airing.
