For the uninformed for the past several years Pokemon tv has been a hub for free Pokémon shows and stuff even hosting some tcg stuff albeit with ads,now it has disconnected downloads and is shutting down in March, with ever confusing status of Pokémon on streaming it was nice to have a predictable release pattern with Pokémon tvs rotation system, plus this will cause lots of people the chance for some free Pokémon content, also this MAY cause some stuff to go lost but I’m not sure yet and will have to check if all content from it is available elsewhere (and I’m not talking about the Pokémon anime or most of the stuff you can find on Pokémon’s YouTube channel since they are pretty out there)
I'm bizarrely sad over this. I didn't even use the app all that much, on mobile or computer, but it was just a nice chill place to access random, fun Pokemon content in a cute, colorful format. It makes sense WHY it's shutting down, with Pokemon on Netflix (and other streaming services) and whole Pokemon series on physical media but yeah. Indeed, please keep us updated if any lost media comes of it.

To be honest I know I say this a lot but I HATE the cluttered releases of the Pokémon anime,I mean it would cost you a bit over 100 dollars to buy the entire Black and White era (not including movies) on dvd,for the nerds sake can we get a concrete release of at least all of Ash’s episodes, the path they are taking with the (mostly mid as expected) movies on physical media I’m fine with though.
Honestly the fact that there just isn't a single service with all of the seasons of Pokémon available for streaming is just ridiculous to me.
Yeah, I heard in Japan with series like Hamtaro, you can just find the whole thing streaming on Hulu there. Meanwhile in the USA...
Series here are just spread across multiple platforms, heck even something like Star Trek is MOSTLY all on Paramount Plus, but now the new season of Prodigy is suddenly on Netflix instead? Same with the new Sandy Cheeks movie-for some reason that's hitting Netflix instead of Paramount Plus, and heck even some Spongebob content isn't on Paramount Plus either even though it's advertised as being the "Spongebob place." Ludicrous! (I do get that companies shop around to keep projects alive, but still)
TBH, with Pokemon I've even lost track of where it even is anymore beyond Netflix (I used to watch it on Xfinity, but it was always random episodes). There are DVD sets for pretty much all of the series and movies at this point but as the OP mentioned, those can incur major costs to "catch em all." To say nothing of the movies...

-clears throat-
Netflix-Indigo League (first half),Journeys,(and eventually Horizons)
Hulu-XY (just English dubbed episodes)
Prime Video (with prime)-Advanced, Sun and Moon(I think there is some of Johto available but I could be wrong)
Tubi-black and white
Hoopla (you need a library card to access)-Diamond and Pearl
Pokémon TV (until it shuts down)-Sun and Moon,Indigo League (complete),some of journeys and a revolving season
WHEW!
That was complicated.

The messed up part is back when Pokémon was airing on Disney XD, they had literally all of the anime (well all of the English-dubbed episodes that weren't banned) available on the Disney XD app (and later the DisneyNOW app).
Granted the Disney XD app and the DisneyNOW app were TV Everyone apps, so you had to have a cable or satellite subscription and have the Disney channels as part of your channel package to access them but you could still do it.
Prime Video (with prime)-Advanced, Sun and Moon(I think there is some of Johto available but I could be wrong)
Amazon has the entirety of the Johto era of the anime available on their Freevee service (which is that free and ad-supported streaming thing they got), all of Hoenn and X and Y are available on Freevee too.

Ah
Freevee’s also owned by Amazon so it makes sense why they are similar with inventory.

(I gotta start reading every TINY detail in posts before I quote.)

whoa hold the phone there's a Sandy Cheeks movie coming and i'm just now hearing about it? sounds awesome.
As for Pokemon, most of it is either on Amazon or Tubi. Annoying thing is with the former you used to get all of Black and White and onwards with a subscription but now you have to pay per episode so for that series I had to switch over to Tubi instead.
