Hello, so there was a live-action dinosaur movie that I remember so well from when I was younger, but no matter how hard I looked, I could not find the source.
Okay so, I saw this in early January of 2012 so it must've been made in 2011 or before that. Anyhoo so I only saw one scene of the film as my dad just had it on the tv and I walked into the living room and sat down. Don't remember what tv channel it was on but definitely a popular movie showing channel at the time. So it was a dinosaur movie and there were three characters, one white lady with a jacket and long red hair, a black man with a short black hair and a blue jacket, and a nerd white guy with short ginger hair and glasses. So they were stealing an egg from a triceratops in a forest of some kind, and began running away once the mama let out a roar. But the nerd guy, who was holding the egg, just froze there in fear and got sliced in half with the triceratops' horns, with bad cgi. The black guy dies next by being impaled against a tree by the horns of the dino, he screams and it shows a face shot of him screaming and blood seeping into his teeth. And then it cuts to the woman who is running but falls, I don't remember anymore because I got bored and left the room.
It isn't Jurassic Park, as I have checked dozens of times and no scene matches. I do plan on creating a small scene recreation comic of all I remember, but I just wanted to write down the description to see if anyone knows this film before I spend my time making all those drawings.
What country/state/etc. are you from when seeing this? That will help narrow down a potential network
Oh, I saw it in California
Oof, California is a BIG state & they make a LOT of stuff, so it could be rather hard to narrow down. On the plus side, it DOES mean it could be on IMDB since really, just about ANY SHOW OR MOVIE FROM CALIFORNIA is bound to be on there.
Dreams are boundless, imaginations are infinite, space is a multi-directional spiral & Akazukin ChaCha is my favorite anime
Looked pretty extensively and couldn't find anything that matches this description. You seem pretty sure of the precise timeframe and gave plenty of specific character details, but I'm unable to find any contemporary CGI shows or movies before 2013 where a triceratops kills humans or adult humans steal dinosaur eggs.
Could you be misremembering any part of this? Type of dinosaur, etc

I could potentially be misremembering the woman's outfit and her falling at the end, and the dinosaur could've been a Styracosaurus and not a Triceratops, but other than that I cannot think of anything else I could be misremembering. The deaths of the two men in that scene are very fresh in my mind.
There's a B-movie from 2013 called Jurrasic Attack: Rise of the Dinosaurs that has a scene where a guy gets impaled on a triceratops horn. I kinda doubt it's your same movie, but you could check it out if you wanted, just in case!
And here's a similar scene from an older movie, Planet of Dinosaurs (1977)

If it's not either of these, I'll keep looking!
Unfortunately, neither of these are the movie. It was most likely made between 2000-2011, and the characters were in a forest, jungle of some sort. But thank you, I appreciate it!
So update, I have a small hunch that it could possibly be the Primeval movie (2007) as the content and graphics are very similar to the things I remember, and a death scene at 1:23 here feels very close to what I am looking for, but not close enough as it is not in a forest nor has the correct dinosaur. I just wanted to show my findings and hope I, or anyone else, can find the scene and film I am looking for. I will be digging into more shows as it may be a show rather than a movie, but still, whatever can lead to more findings.
