I have very, VERY vague memories of seeing this cartoon at a mall. It might have been shown on one of those blocky things they show ads on. I do know for sure I saw it at a mall. This was probably in the late 2000's or early 2010's, I'd say around 2008-2013. I remember very little about it. I don't remember any of the characters names or exact details of their designs, but I do remember some of the plot. It was very short, only a few minutes iirc.
Firstly, the main character comes up to the screen and introduces himself by name and then his friends appear. It was a small group of friends, not too many. I don't recall what happens next, I think they might have went to play a game?
Then, the characters say that one of the friends is short. (I think too short to play the game they were playing.) I also think that character might have been some sort of gray monster. (I keep thinking him as some sort of rock monster for some reason.) He doesn't believe that he's short at first, but then the main character goes up to him with a yellow ruler and says that he really is short. I also remember that he (the main character) was frowning while doing that.
Then the friend gets sad and runs away crying. The other characters then say they are going to find him, and that's were it ended. I'm pretty sure they promised a continuation, but I never saw a part two, nor did I see that cartoon again. Not at that mall, or at any mall. I also don't remember seeing anything like it on TV or online, and I never saw a cartoon being shown in a mall again. It's really strange to me. I have no idea if it was made for said mall or to be played in malls only... Does anyone else remember seeing cartoons being shown in a mall before?
Some notes of things I find important:
- The characters were little humanoids, but they were also sort of monster-like. They gave me the vibes of Yo Gabba Gabba characters, and the old Scratch mascots. (Pico, Nano, Giga, etc.)
- It was animated for sure. Not CGI.
- The characters were voiced by kids. That or they were voiced by woman. It looked like a little kids cartoon in general.
- I don't feel comfortable saying what mall it was at for obvious reasons, (or what mall I think it was because I can't even recall the exact one,) But I know I saw it at a mall. Googling the name of the mall and cartoon or similar stuff yield nothing.
- The scene where the main character measures his friend is the scene I recall the most vividly. I think because I found it uncanny that the main character was suddenly frowning for some reason? I have no idea if this is just some fever dream I had as a child, but that scene sticks out too much for me to dismiss it as my imagination.
- Things I remember that happened for sure are: The main character introducing himself by name at the beginning, his friends appearing and introducing themselves by name, the other character being called short, the main character measuring him while frowning, the character getting sad and running away, and the other characters going to look for him and it ending there.
