What is your “I didn’t care for The Godfather.”

I quite like Wreck it Ralph 2 but was kinda eh on the Frozen movies.

I have not really been into superhero movies/MCU beyond the mid 00s. I was interested in the 90s with the comics, the various animated series, TV shows and movies then and before the 90s but the last Marvel/DC superhero movie I watched was Spider-Man 2 in 2004 and gave up on watching any more and got even less interested after seeing the amount amount DC/MCU movies being churned out since then.

Seinfeld - I have seen clips of the show a lot of times but I have never been interested in it enough to sit and watch entire episodes of it.

Star Wars and anything to do with it. I have seen the first 3 movies multiple times, but I could never get into it and lost interest in it.

Apart from Pokemon games (especially main series games) which I have always liked and play to this day, I have never really been interested in any other Nintendo games except for playing Mario Kart 64 a number of times and liking it.

Most modern games. Besides the GTA franchise which I like, I am just not interested in modern games and haven't found any I like. If/when I do play games, it is mostly PC games from before the mid 2010s, usually the 90s and early 2000s such as Deus Ex, Age of Empires 1 and 2, Diablo II, Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force, Star Trek Deep Space Nine: The Fallen, Motocross Madness 2, Simcity 3000, Gilbert Goodmate and the Mushroom of Phungoria, The Summoner, Technomage etc... I have also never owned a games console like a SNES, GameCube, Playstation, Xbox etc... The only consoles I have had are portable Nintendo GBA Advance, DSi, 3DS and Switch Lite.

Adding another one to this but man, I can't really get into many RPG/JRPG franchises. A lot of them just kinda blend together for me because they share similar aesthetics (medieval or semi futuristic). Like if you showed me screenshots from Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy*, and Octopath Traveler, I probably couldn't spot the difference, or care enough to know the difference.

I've actually met someone at work kind of like that-he's a big RPG fan but not "that kind of RPG fan." I am a JRPG fan, but when we tried to discuss RPG games we quickly diverged when it turns out he doesn't care for "those kinds of RPGs" at all. I do agree that JRPGs can be SUPER tropy, and that they tend to fall into more tropy stuff more often than Western RPGs (IMO). Not to mention just by virtue of art style, they tend to more closely resemble each other (IE hence more confusion and sameness), sort of like with anime aesthetics in general and "same face syndrome" vs. the wide, wide variety of Western animation styles.

I had an old teacher who complained about that with manga when people kept sneaking it in class (this was 12+ years ago, so physical books). I remember his saying: "All the characters look the same, they're drawn the same, same face, same body types, there's no variety like Looney Tunes or other Western cartoons or the Far Side or Western comics, I mean look at the way ____ (some Western cartoonist, maybe the Far Side creator) drew all kinds of body shapes and types, I had to confiscate those books and most of them are 'trash' anyway." (paraphrased from memory)

Yeah, and TBF, I do have my own issues with "samey" anime design (see: moe boom of the 00s, and accompanying visual novel barf). In terms of character design, I see his point especially. Read enough of the gazillion generic shonen and shoujo stuff released every year since like the 80s and you will certainly be hit a lot by the "same-y" stick. 

BUT my old teacher also had no knowledge of Western animation beyond the "newspaper funnies," maybe a handful of Disney movies (MAYBE), and Looney Tunes. All of those do look VERY distinct from each other indeed, to the untrained and (bluntly) ignorant eye like his, "WESTERN ANIMATION IS SO MUCH MORE DISTINCT OMG." So yeah, I get it.

But to the trained eye, someone who actually knows animation, there are plenty of "Western styles" that are NOT distinct, and as samey as anime designs are to other anime designs. Think ripoffs, copycat, lazy design, reuse of shared assets galore, slight tweaks to a single character model-you can't look at say, Quest for Camelot, and not see it wholesale copying Disney-esque designs, same for Anastasia or Thumbelina (tho I do quite love Anastasia). Or the "Family Guy style" popular for adult animation. Or Disney Princesses all just having the same style face and body shape. Or Hanna Barbera's output in the 1970s just recycling itself, or others copying them. Or much of Butch Hartman's work. Or Chicken Little trying to mimic "offcolor" Dreamworks design. My Gym Partner's a Monkey just looks like worse late 90s "cartoon network sharp angular style." The "CalArts" style controversy of the 2010s stretching into today, the "bean mouth" to the point that even PIXAR was criticized for it. Heck even Youtuber Rebeltaxi in one his videos asks: "why does every animated movie female have the same glassy eyed doll look now?" (IE copying the Frozen/Tangled look). The recent Pixar AI movie generator meme. Etc, etc. Even if you like the design choices of any of these projects, or the projects themselves, there's no denying that "Western animation" has its own major problems with sameness. 

Heck, in a way the samey anime designs CAN crop up in Western animation, such as in Marathon Media's cartoons like Totally Spies!, Martin Mystery & The Far Out Adventures of Team Galaxy. There's a whole trope about this & it even has a sub-trope.
