Greetings to everyone
I'm looking for probably not standart things, but still, I searching obb data from the beta version of tes:Legends and any extra information about the Chinese censored version (files, who the developer is, and any additional information). They can contain things that would be quite good to document, and are conditionally searchable by members of the UESP (Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages)
I will try to describe what is known at the moment, in case anyone can help or even has advice:
Beta version/s:
The problem here is to find a version before 1.6, meaning 1.5 and earlier. And not just the versions as such, since it's not hard to find an .apk, but the obb data itself. The problem is that the game downloaded this package itself (from server), which means that the aggregators who distributed the game outside of Google play did not seem to store/save it at all
After that time, the game's client was completely changed, so there is no chance of downloading them from the old .apk, and the only hope is that these obb data are still saved somewhere. But all search I've done so far hasn't led me anywhere, I didn't find it on any aggregators nor on old forums
As I was told by the UESP this data was never saved by them and they could not find it either, in their attempts to. Why this makes sense to search at all is due to the fact that these files can and do contain assets and arts that have been either removed from the game, replaced, or never used at all
I am not sure if it is still possible to find it, but I hope/assume I might have missed specific sources that might be storing this, so I'd welcome help
China version (censored):
Not to be confused with the Asian one. This is a pretty strange version that popped up pretty randomly, and disappeared just as randomly. I did a very extensive search at one time, then took a break, and now tried to come back, I notice at this point everything has only gotten worse
The beta test of this particular version took place in 2019 on the iyingdi.com website, I can't say exactly how many such tests there were, but I know about two, one was in a post on January 8, the other in a post on November 20, whether there were more, but it's hard to say, the problem is that the original posts were deleted when I found out about them, as well as the account that made them and...
At one time, when searching for keywords, the site offered to see an excerpt from the post, it showed it even though the post had already been deleted
BUT, why did it get worse, now the site does not allow to see even the excerpts of those posts for those dates, so I completely lost at least some opportunity to see a bit of information from here
Everything I managed to find I documented on UESP and I was also given one of the beta-test versions (I'm not sure which one specifically), the files from which I also datamined for UESP
I'm not familiar enough with the Chinese part of Internet so I'm not sure how to search it properly, but my attempts to repeat keywords to find announcements of posts on other sites, or any information at all, either led me to the Asian version (which is a completely different version) or didn't yield any useful things at all. Perhaps someone knows better, as this is what is left to find:
1. Files of other beta test versions
To a certain extent, there is a chance that beta versions for different times may contain different additional assets inside
2. Who is the developer
Yeap, we seems don't even know who the developer is, as it's unlikely to be Bethesda, given that all the development of tes:Legends was handed over to other separate studios. I tried to ask these studios, but it seems that they have nothing to do with this version, which is interesting, as the game files of the version I have contain logos of all the studios that worked on tes:Legends at different times or its individual versions
3. More general info about tests
I mean, general information such as how many beta tests were launched, when, for what purpose (some beta tests tested specific features of the game), and so on. In other words, any information that was in those announcement posts, but which have never been documented
4. Footages¿
The ones I posted on UESP are just in-game screenshots, for the tutorial system, but it seems there were people who even managed to test some beta versions, I didn't find much, but again, considering I don't know Chinese, I might just be missing the right set of words to find something related to this particular thing
I realize that there is a chance that all this is lost, cause almost no one documented it in those days, and when I came it was too late, but I have hope that I am just a bad osinter and it can still be found in some way/form
That's pretty much it! I hope I haven't made text too long and have highlighted only the most important things. If anyone would be interested, please let me know if I can provide more information that would be helpful
Unfortunately, I've reached a complete dead end on both for now. And to be honest, I've hardly ever gotten much help in my search, but I'll be Very grateful for any attempt to help
