I'm not sure if it was really a short or a tv show. Either way it had an ongoing plot involving a girl moving cross country in a rv. I remember the first episode involved her packing up and saying goodbye to a friend. She ends up dropping her toothbrush in the toilet and her and her friend decide she's better off without it.
The was one episode that took place in the desert. She poked a scorpion with a stick and it turned into a giant (like a foot tall) hologram that chased her. She gained a fear of going outside because of this. When they stopped at a rest stop her family went off while she stayed in the rv. I think the episode ended with her on the roof triumphantly basking in the sun.
I want to say the girl was a teen (roughly 13-15). Maybe had blonde hair. Not sure though. Was probably aired in the 90s
