Back around 2014, I watched a rip of Serial Experiments Lain that I must have downloaded from The Pirate Bay. Whoever had uploaded it added their own intro, before the opening of each episode. I remember it having a whispering voice saying something like "Set... You... Free..." then a sick chugging guitar riff with a photo of a blonde-haired white guy in a black leather trenchcoat, with the username of the uploader or translation group. It was so cartoonishly edgy that my husband and I reference it all the time, but we can't find this version of Lain anywhere anymore.
Does anyone else know what I'm talking about? I wish I'd kept these files because it became such an integral part of the experience of watching Lain for me.
