[S] Weird Anime About Mystery-Solving Animals.

When I was young, I remember seeing this strange cartoon on my local news/broadcasting station. I vaguely remember anything, but from what I can remember, the premise was that there was a bunch of anthropomorphic animal kids who would solve various mysteries. The main character and leader of the group was a either a porcupine or hedgehog, and he normally wore a red shirt. His best friend, and the only other character that I can remember, was a skunk who wore glasses and a blue shirt. He was hesitant towards everything, and had almost the same voice and personality as Arnold from The Magic School Bus, basically his fursona. The art style was very uncanny, and even though this was in 2D, the characters, despite being anthropomorphic, looked like just humans with fur than actual animals. The quality of the animation was anime-ish, but also had a "foreign" cartoon vibe. I wouldn't be surprised if what I watched was an English dub of the series.

The only episode that I can recall features our titular gang having fun while camping until the other kids in the neighborhood want them to solve a mystery about some sort of monster in the area, which kicks things off.

I've been looking for this series for years, and I swear on my life that it's real, but every time that I try to do "research" on it, I keep running into dead ends. It'd be nice to know that I'm not crazy, or just misremembering.
