Hi! This is my first forum thread here, so forgive me if any mistakes are made, but I've got an unusual topic of YouTube media that's a bit sentimental to me.
This is a series of YouTube videos I've noticed fell under obscurity. Over a decade ago, I saw a group of teens on a YouTube channel named TAM417 make a series of remakes of songs from the movies High School Musical 2 and High School Musical 3: Senior Year. The videos had a significantly low budget; the cast lip-syncing to the original recording after a remake of the scene before it (if there was one), most of the characters are portrayed by women, they had a few changes from the original scenes, and Troy and Sharpay are the same actress. For some reason, during the mid-2010s, the videos mysteriously vanished, presumably deleted by TAM417 themselves. Because of this, these YouTube videos have barely any trace remaining.
Below, these are all of the songs I have seen remade:
High School Musical 2
- What Time Is It?
- Work This Out (one of the first ones as far as I know to be remade)
- I Don't Dance
- Bet on It
- All for One (one of the first ones as far as I know to be remade)
High School Musical 3: Senior Year
- Now or Never
- A Night to Remember
- The Boys Are Back (The only video I could find at the moment)
- High School Musical
It's a distant memory from my childhood that I would love to experience again, as looking back, I consider those videos to be so bad, they're so good. I've tried looking for any contact information on TAM417, but it didn't help since it is scarce. I don't expect every song remake to be found, as those videos are over a decade old, but if you could help me find any remaining material of these videos, that would be much appreciated. Thanks!
