When I was little, I thought the lyric "I feel it in my bones, enough to make my systems blow" from "Radioactive" by imagine dragons was "I feel it in my bones, don't you make my sister grow" 💀💀. What was I thinking 🤣.
For the longest time, I thought the line "Like a drifter I was born to walk alone" from Whitesnake's Here I go Again was "Like a twister I was born to rock alone."
And this wasn't me, but my sister thought forever that "Dirty deeds done dirt cheap" was, for some reason, "Dirty deeds and the thunder jeep."
I know you're only talking to keep the silence out Maybe you should listen and leave some room for doubt You're just handing out bad reputations Why don't you shut your mouth? -Motorhead, "Overnight Sensation"

“Don’t you make my sister grow” I don’t think I want to know what you thought they meant when you heard the word “grow” 💀.

For me there's this song where a girl says "hey bartender," but for the longest time I thought she said "hey Bob Jr." I only found out when I was with my parent and we were all singing it and the heard me and told me what it really was. Now it's an inside joke in the family.

What The Frick is a Thunder Jeep 😆
That's a question I've been asking for about 35 years now.

The first time I heard of the song "Metal Guru" by T. Rex was on the radio while in a car about 5-6 years ago. I misheard the line "Metal Guru is it you?" as "Men on the roof, is it you?" and I was wondering, who are the men on the roof? At the end of the song, the DJ started talking and said he wondered what Marc Bolan was singing about. I thought, he was also confused about the men on the roof. I didn't know the name of the song at the time or I'd have known what I heard was wrong.
I used to listen to a lot of Hip Hop on the radio when I was in high school (2008-ish). And for the longest time I thought the lyrics to "Snap Yo Fingers" by Lil Jon was "Snap your Bibles". So I thought the song was about encouraging people to be devious.
