These are a cycle of medieval plays depicting the Life of Christ, only two of which survive, The Shearman's and Tailor's Pageant and the Weaver's Pageant - the latter eight are long lost. These remaining pageants were printed in facsimile in the 1830s. A facsimile is an exact duplicate of the original source material and so, although the original copy of the Shearman's and Tailor's pageant was destroyed in a fire shortly before publication, we still have an excellent idea of how the text actually looked.
