I searched for this on the forums but couldn't find anything related to this.
So for a couple years now, I've been looking for the Japanese dub of the DIC cartoon Madeline when I heard that Ikue Otani (Pikachu, Chopper) voiced the main character. I don't know how true that actually is, but it's super hard to find much of this dub. Anyone who posts the content onto Youtube or Nico Nico seems to get copyright strikes. I did find some blogger from Australia who had a MediaFire folder where I was able to download the MP3s of the Japanese dub's musical numbers which I still have to this day. It's not complete, however, there's 65 episodes and I have 35-36 MP3s, two of them are openings and closings. Plus the MP3s are all from episodes after the episodes directly adapted from the books. There's also 3 animated movies that are not accounted for, I did find some blogs in Japanese talking about Lost in Paris but I have no clue if that was dubbed into Japanese or subbed for them.
I think this partially found dub might be a case of very strict copyright, searches about Madeline in Japan over the years has shown me that the show was airing fairly recently on tv, the character and her books and cartoons seem like they have at least a bit of a cult following because it's a cute show, set in Paris, etc.
And I'm not sure if I could find it again, but I also do remember finding an announcement/online flyer for a public library somewhere in Japan years ago and with the help of Google Translate I think it said it would be showing Madeline and the Bad Hat.
I think it would be neat if we could find even one episode and maybe have someone confirm if Otani really did voice Madeline or anyone else for that matter.
Edit: I think it'd be a good idea to paste the search terms I've used to get as far as I have;
マドレーヌ (アニメ) - Madeline (anime)
