Back in the early 2000s, when I was still a kid and had unsupervised access to the internet, I used to like scaring myself by browsing now gone shock/gore sites.
I remember coming across a video of a white middle aged man filming himself in what I think was his garage. The video had an old school VHS camcorder look to it. The man was seen getting naked and pacing around, then at some point he is seen placing a kitchen knife on the floor with the tip of the blade pointing up towards the ceiling. He then proceeds to slowly lay down on top of the knife, lowering his stomach on top of the blade and impaling himself while maintaining the knife in place with one hand. You can see his legs shaking and he makes all sorts of disturbed breathing noises. I am also almost certain he is masturbating at the same time. The whole thing takes a while as the man is hesitating and wincing and can be heard crying at times until eventually he stops moving.
I remember his head being pointed towards the right of the screen and his legs towards the left. I also remember the whole video having a greyish blueish tint to it, and surprisingly not showing a lot of blood.
I may have come across it on rotten.com or another site I remember that was named "ogrish" or something close to that, but it could have been from anywhere.
There was also a description accompanying the video but I didn’t speak enough english at the time to get a full grasp of it. What is 100% sure is that this guy made a conscious decision to film himself doing this. I would assume he survived it, otherwise how would the video end up online?
Anyway. I have little hope anyone can actually find this video given its dark and disturbing nature but I would love to hear that someone else remembers seeing it and was also traumatized by it. I know for a fact I saw this video and it was real (as in not staged, or a scene from a movie).
