For the life of me I cannot find this book I really want to read again. I think it may have dated as early as the 2000s. It was the last reading book I read before moving on into secondary school. Heres everything I remember of the book on the top of my head:
It was a fictional diary book with a young girl as the main character and at the beginning the main character (from now on will be named MC) wrote why she wanted to write a diary. I remember a major part of the story was that the MC's cousin that she hadn't met in years was going to visit again. When the cousin arrived the cousin didnt look the same as the old photo. I remember at one point the MC went into the room the cousin was staying in and on the walls was a picture of the solar system and the MC poked in one of the drawers and found colour eye contacts and a note under the bed that said "I am now a vegan" and the MC thought that meant the cousin was now an ailen and then after the cousin pointed a hair dryer at the MC and the MC accused the cousin of being an ailen but at the end the cousin confirmed she is not an ailen and ever since the day the family would made jokes about the incident. I really found the story funny and want to someday read it again, but by then I left the school.
Here's what I remember the ailen cousin looking like:
I believe it may have been published by Oxford Owl or a similar publisher. I live in the UK if that helps. The book wasn't very mainstream due to it only being made for schools AFAIK. Don't think any sequels were released.
