What are the best ways to find lost media?

I recently wanted to find some pieces of lost media, but I don't know where to start or how wanted to find some pieces of lost media but don't know where to start or how to find them. It is a physical copy would it be better to find them in thrift stores or somewhere else? Or if it's online what are some resources, I could use to help me found media.
