Greetings Lost Media Wiki! I am a new member here and I have been reading LMW for a while now and I have learned many things reading. But anyways, onto my topic:
So around this time is the 20th anniversary of Shadow Warrior, a game originally created by 3D realms. Ans because of that many things have happened this week like the release of pre-release versions of the 1997 game and many many more. But i'm here to talk about something different. So a couple years ago I was reading this forum post: forums.duke4.net/topic/6611-shadow-warrior-mobile-not-ios/page__p__164208__hl__%2Bshadow+%2Bwarrior+%2Bmobile__fromsearch__1#entry164208 from the duke4.net forums by a user named "necroslut" about a shadow warrior game for j2me and (possibly) symbian devices. He attached some screenshots from 2007 from I think a game catalog for mobile during that time. Many people in that thread seem to doubt it's existance including George Broussard from a twitter post and some say they even said that it maybe a cancelled project after all, then another user posted some info about the game, website and it's creator. Now here's the problem, other than that post and the submitted links, there's practically no info about the game on the internet. And at that time, I was really disappointed since I used to own a j2me phone and I wanted to try out a game like that but no luck. So I took matters in to my own hands, first off I emailed the author of the game using one of the emails in the archived webpagr. So I asked the author about the game and suprise, he did respond! Now Im not going to post the screenshot of the email here since I don't want to get in trouble, but he confirmed that it did exist, it was released on j2me/ symbian s40/s60 phones thru distribution sites like clickgamer and zgroup, it was an "official" game since he got the license from scott miller himself but unfortunately he did not have a copy of it in hand and that he exited mobile game development after that. Nowadays, he runs a DS game studio. After sending those emails, I lost hope and interest for a while until around dec. Last year when I asked chillingo (which bought clickgamer, one of the sites the game was apparently distributed) to see if they still have a copy. Suprise someone answered, he asked more info about the game from me and said if he can, he may even ask former clickgamer employees about it. However after waiting for about a week and a half, he said that nobody remembers the game nor the developer from clickgamer employees he asked. So now i'm running into you guys since I need help finding this holy grail from the dark mobile days for Preservation and to shed light on the missing piece of the franchise's history. Thanks in advance.
