Cancelled movies/alternate cuts discussion thread.

I know part 3 was a hard fought battle to get an R-rating and i'm not sure if there's any footage missing from the unrated version but I wasn't aware part 2 had deleted scenes as well. I can see why that chainsaw bit was cut, sounds a little too out there even for as silly as part 2 got at times.


Another alternate cut i've always wanted to see is the original version of Gigli, from what I heard the film was originally supposed to be a lot darker and it got turned into more of a comedy, Martin Brest was so unhappy over how his film was tampered with that he quit filmmaking altogether. With Bennifer now a thing again now seems like the perfect time for a 20th anniversary directors cut release of the film.

Then there's Swing Shift which had all of the scenes critical of the war removed along with changing much of what happened with Andie McDowall's character originally enjoying being in love with two men (which was ultimately changed in the final version to her being more sure of her choice and adding in more slapstick humor). Sadly i've heard the directors cut is in rough shape so the chances of a restoration are slim.
