I was watching a YouTube video that brought up an Avril Lavigne song called “dolphins”. The YouTubers description on the song was kinda vague. She only said that this song had lyric pages online but the song does not seem to exist. I tried looking it up I could not find much on it. What is going on?

It seems that there actually isn't much at all about the subject online, and even Wikipedia has virtually no information about the fake song on Lavigne's page. The most comprehensive article I could find is this one from BoingBoing in 2021:
I did also find a very small forum post on an Avril Lavigne fan site, where a fan posited the hypothesis that the song's origins are similar to that of the originally fake video games Yeah Yeah Beebiss and Yeah Yeah Beebiss II, in that it was an intentionally fake set of lyrics posted by a lyrics site, which no one knows for sure at this point, to see if others simply copied their content and committed plagiarism and possible copyright infringement. And much like the Beebiss games, would eventually become "real" by way of fans, in this case by covers done by artists online through avenues like Youtube and Soundcloud.
The main prevailing theory I was seeing from the scant information was that the lyrics were written and posted to LyricsMode, the earliest known instance of the song's alleged lyrics, in 2007, presumably by either a fan that wrote the lyrics themselves and attributed them to Lavigne in some sort of weird homage, or that it was possibly a troll that was looking to make fun of Lavigne and her work, and/or may even have been a critique of the shallowness and vapidness of current pop music. Except for the lyrics being posted to the site in 2007, this is all just speculation, though.
This is as much as I was able to find, as everything else was either just the supposed lyrics, or just the same information that has been circulating since basically the inception of this whole thing. It just doesn't seem to be any more than that online, and it's probably going to stay that way.

I have came to the conclusion that this song probably does not exist. Looking at the lyrics they do not really seem like a song that Avril would write. I think that a fan or a troll wrote the lyrics and posted them online and then later people thought they were real lyrics.

Maybe a remnant of the Limewire days where music were frequently misattributed to the wrong artist.
If that's true, then there had to have been an original song, and it would be lost media itself.
