So my told me about this show he heard about. It aired around 20 years ago and was about some kids who went under their beds and it took them to a mushroom town full of mushroom people. It was traditionally animated too.

I've watched the 1st episode & there are no mushroom towns or mushroom people, so I'm not sure if this is it or not. I should probably watch more to see if eventually a mushroom town appears.

Though the concept is similar, doubt that's it. No mushrooms and he said "kids" so I'm assuming there's more than one. Then again, it wasn't me who saw this so it could be. I'll be sure to update with whether that's it or not.
