If you have a DVD.com subscription, you can keep any of the discs currently in your possession, and get 10 free (random?) discs. The last DVD is to be shipped out on Sept. 29.
I had no idea this thing was still running, so I'm not sure if anyone on here actually has a subscription. The site seems to be down already, so I think they might have shut down the service? Luckily, the FAQ has been archived.
I was signed up for their DVD service not too long ago as it was a convenient way for me to get a hold of rare films that I didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for like Darkness the Vampire Version and I stopped once I discovered Usenet and didn't need it anymore and because I was tired of my discs arrived cracked and having to replace them. I hope these get sold.

A few of the articles I saw mentioned that they're probably going to have them destroyed or sent to a landfill because of some legal thing with license holders (I don't see why it would be any different to buying secondhand DVDs anywhere else, but what do I know?). My guess is they don't want to bother with postage, but local in-person bulk sales would solve that issue if the warehouses were in or near a city.
Sucks how a lot of companies would sooner destroy their products than give them away or sell them.
