Lately I've been fascinated with older movies and TV shows. The hunt of them has been a good time-passer. But, I've also found that the only surviving copies online have been low quality for some of them. I want to clean them up or upscale them and make them look as good as possible before archiving them over at Archive. I've uploaded the full series of Mrs Columbo, Circle of Fear/Ghost Story, Thriller, and Occasional Wife. I'm currently in the process of gathering all of 240-Robert and uploading them. What's the best way to upscale or clean these up? I don't necessarily care if it's AI enhanced or not, just whatever makes them look as good as possible.
I understand that. I'm not necessarily wanting to make it look like new 4K movies and TV. Mostly just wanting to clean up VHS noise or maybe sharpen it up a bit.

Ai is good for this, but be sure to use a light touch.
"oooh, you're a- a freaked out child in the woods..."

Yeah I understand that, i've just seen what happens when that process goes wrong like those infamous DBZ Orange Brick sets and a few Looney Tunes DVD and Blu-Ray releases.

Yup. Some of them get real weird and heavy-handed and make things look TOO smooth which just looks bizarre.

yeah even some Blu-Ray releases have that issue like Patton and Terminator.
