As a kid, my dad would buy a lot of DVDs for the sake of our entertainment, and because of that, I grew up on a lot of shows and movies via DVD, as time passed I would look back at my childhood DVDs with envy as I recalled the specific shows I loved so much as a kid. I can remember almost every show I had on DVD but one. This DVD I'm referring to could have been bootleg because it lacked branding and was a plain white disc of a potentially pre-existing show/movie.
Now let's dive into the premise, the show/movie was split into 2 segments (I guess) one segment was about the adventures of kids that lived in a village the kids sort of dressed like Elves and seemed to be of European descent, the kids would climb trees and explore caves they would also save and protect one another from natural disasters or dangerous animals. I also recall each kid wearing a specific color.
The second segment of this animated DVD was about the Adventures of anthropomorphic animals in their forest and village hybrid. These animals would embark on many different adventures in their forest such as boarding trains and sometimes even cooking. The most prominent animals I’ve seen were Cats, Rabbits, Penguins, Bears, Pigs, and Lions.
Unfortunately, I could not understand any of the dialogue being said as this animation was dubbed in some sort of East Asian language, I came to this conclusion because I vaguely recall the Title card in the DVD being written in some sort of Chinese-esque language (Then again this show could have a pre-existing western animation dubbed into those languages). The animation was also of low resolution and the animation quality seemed to be rather old I’d assume it was animated from the 1970s-1990’s.
Despite the barrier of both language and resolution quality I still found great enjoyment in watching this animation because I found the premise to be quite intriguing because as a kid there wasn't anything quite like it. I look forward to watching this foreign animation once more with greater understanding but due to the obscurity of this media, I’m afraid I might not be able to watch it once more. I hope someone out there knows what I’m referring to.
