I'm a bit obsessed with 80's/90's toy-based shows and I've hit a bit of a roadblock while researching one of them. I'm not sure anyone here has leads, but hey, it doesn't hurt to ask?
Vor-Tech: Undercover Conversion Squad is a 1996-1997 cartoon based on a toyline by Hasbro/Kenner, which was an attempt to revive the concept of MASK without using the name (because of the Jim Carrey movie). The premise is that there was a conflict between the "Techs", heroic vigilante who used something called "Vor-Technology" to get super-powers and sentient transforming vehicles, and evil cyborgs called the "Bio-Mechs". The leader of the Bio-Mechs, Lord Matrix, was the brother of the leader of the Techs who went insane after testing experimental nanotechnology on himself. Lord Matrix and his two minions, Frostbite and Hardfire, wanted to spread a virus that would assimilate everyone into a cyborg hivemind called the "Matrix".
The show was broadcast as part of the "Power Block" with GI Joe Extreme, Beast Wars, and reruns of Reboot. The Power Block was a syndicated cartoon package made by Claster Television to help sell Hasbro shows networks didn't want to pick up. By early 1997, Vor-Tech was cancelled, GI Joe Extreme concluded its storyline as the toyline was axed, and BW and Reboot continued as network shows. The show was co-produced by Universal, Lacewood, Mediatoon, Funbag, and Dupuis Audiovisuel, and animated by AKOM and Koko.
Despite that it was syndicated nationwide, there's barely any footage of the show accessible. I found the facebook for the "development director" of the show at Universal and contacted him, but he's not responded. Literally the only videos available on the internet are this:
low-quality intro
The above-linked Albert Penello page has a version without Xbox-hueg watermark
1 and half minute from an episode www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0G7jtCJwkA
part 2: www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1Yxwc1OGos
Power Block bumper www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzjPQgfZROY#t=1m40s
Animation cells from the show are for sale on Ebay and other auction sites. I put them up in this imgur album imgur.com/a/uSHvp
So yeah, point is, does anyone remember this?
