Not really, just in general there is so much media exclusive to just DVDs that aren't typically online special features and games that can only be accessed through certain copies. And with DVDs going the way of the dinosaur in the mainstream, it seems like we're a little at risk for some being lost to time.

So long as thrift stores exist, I doubt it.

I think this is a great idea. My brother and I used to go through all of the extras on every DVD we rented or owned! Majorly nostalgic.
I could see a use for this for really rare DVDs with extras like the 2004 Asylum horror film "Haunted House". Used to own that one but at the time I didn't know how to rip full-DVDs so I sold it on Ebay, i'll see if I can get another copy.
