Hi all, hoping I can get some help with this! First time posting a thread so please forgive any newbie mistakes.
Growing up, my siblings and I would tease each other by aiming the TV remote at each other while pressing the buttons and saying "infrared in your head" over and over, however I'm not sure where we got the idea to do this from.
I'm pretty sure it's from a TV ad (live action) where two kids (I think a boy and a girl, possibly two boys) do the same thing. I want to say it was an ad for juice/squash but I really couldn't say for certain. I don't remember seeing the ad too often so there's a chance it could be from a TV show, although I don't know which one.
This would be a UK/Irish TV ad that would have aired on children's TV from the early to mid 2000s. We had a TV package so it could have been Nickelodeon/Cartoon Network/Boomerang, etc. I want to know if anyone else remembers it and make sure that it's real before I go trawling through ad compilations 😅 Thanks in advance!

I've since spoken with my siblings and one thinks it was a bumper, and was animated with little stick figure characters. The stick figures line up with my association of it being a juice ad as vimto used to run ads using stick figures/simple drawings. Another thought it was from Dexter's Lab but I don't think that's where it comes from.
It definitely wasn't local to me, I believe it was for a UK brand of something. I can't give an exact year for when I saw it but it can't have been later than 2010.
I know I said children's TV in my first post, but it might've aired later on ordinary networks like UTV/ITV. Part of me wants to say it aired as a bumper for x-factor/Britain's got talent/Saturday Night Takeaway as those are the only shows i can think of that my siblings and I would have watched all together.
"Can I have a go on the jelly" is a quote from Harry Hill's TV Burp but the first tweet explicitly mentions the infrared thing comes from an advert. This backs up what you said about it airing with Saturday night TV.
Here we go - Quality Street Matchmakers sponsorship for TV Burp. Thanks to bluefrogtv for grabbing this for me!
Now that I've seen this it's really familiar. I never watched TV Burp but I did used to watch You've Been Framed, so I probably caught a bit of it afterwards.

This is it! Thank you so much for finding it! 🥹
I should've known it had to do with TV Burp, that was definitely a staple growing up and a good few quotes and skits from the show are still rattling around in my brain.
