Back in the early 1980's, a board game based on Pac-Man was made by Milton Bradley. It became a somewhat famous oddity that'd you'd occasionally see on YouTube and the sort, but it was never a well-recieved board game nor did it ever take off. Before the game was reprinted in 2019, someone made a digital recreation and posted it online (had to be made sometime in the late 2000's to mid 2010's.) I remember downloading it and really enjoying the game as a kid (defo played it in the mid 2010's, no later than 2017). Unfortunately, I lost the computer I had the game on a long time ago. From what I remember, the game was a single .exe ala Ski Free, the graphics looked just like the original Pac-Man game, it ran windowed and full-screened, and I had found the download via a YouTube video. The creator stated they made the adaptation on a whim even tho they hated the actual board game. I tried looking for this again back when the original board game was reprinted to no avail. Did some cursory Google searching for "Pac-Man board game video game" today with and without quotes and got absolutely nothing. Found a recreation for TableTop Simulator when searching Yandex but this was abolsutely a separate game/executable that didn't require Steam or anything else. I distinctly remember it being called exactly "Pac-Man the board game video game."
The chance someone else remembers this exact fan game is slim (don't remember that YouTube video with the download having very many views), but hopefully this thread pops up for the other crazy soul that played this thing back in the day and maybe a download will resurface. I'd LOVE to play this thing again.
Asked about it on a Pac-Man discord server and thankfully someone there had it! Yet again, this game was never lost, just hard to find with current search algorithms. It was made in 2009 by a guy named Chris Benshoof and his website is still up to this day! I was correct that I had found it on an obscure YouTube video from the mid 2010's. Gonna upload to Internet Archive just in case.
