Their use to be a game we would play during computer lab through out elementary school (Kindergarten through fifth grade) where you had to play various educational mini games with bugs. I went to a Central Indiana elementary school from 2001 to 2007 but the game may have been older then that . I remember teachers could log in and check to make sure your playing the game and their was two types that were essentially the same game but one was for K through 2nd grade and the other was 3rd through 5th grade. I'm basing this off my memory and haven't played this game in over 20 some years so I may be mistaken on some of the details.
The 2D animated game went as follows, a lighting bug crashes somewhere, he then goes "Hello....Hello.. Is anyone out there?' Then announces himself as possibly being Bugsy or something similar. The lighting bug is a reporter. Bugsy then takes us to a village that consist of possibly cans or trash filled with other bugs. Their are three mini game sections, Math which is a restaurant run by ants, a slow talking snail who teaches English from a log, you may have to help her or her babies get across by spelling words right and an activity center, where you are read small prompt and get to color a picture attached to it.
I know I'm not imagining or having some sort of fever dream about this game, it has to exist. I have specific memories of printing out pictures from the activity center and giving it to teachers or friends. Some people I went to school with remember the game but no one remembers the name of it. I asked my younger brother who was born in 2006 if he ever played the game and he told me he had no clue what I was talking about, meaning my school had discontinued it by 2012. I asked r/thetipofmytoungue a few years ago and they suggested it might be Humongous Entertainments Buzzy series. It is without a doubt not the Buzzy series by Humongus Entertainment. If anyone else remembers this game or its name please tell me, I've been looking for some sort of clue on this for at least four years now.
It was called something like Bugsy or Buggle or maybe Bug Town
Edit: I did a drawing of what I remember imgur.com/gallery/Kp53cI3
