Backstory (Feel Free To Skip):
Ian and Anthony's reunion and buyout of Smosh has sparked my nostalgia, prompting me to revisit old videos from my childhood. This included exploring the Shut Up! Cartoons channel. However, while browsing through its content, I noticed something missing that I vividly remembered. Like for example, I swore they had some weird anime live action hybrid show. Fortunately, I managed to find it easily at it seems to be all archived its called: Oishi High School Battle.
As I continued to reminisce, I stumbled upon Uberdude a superhero parody series with a the twist that each episode allowed viewers to choose their own ending. I distinctly remembered that this show was part of a viewer contest, where several shows were announced simultaneously. The most popular show from the contest would receive further episodes and production support. Ultimately, Uberdude emerged as the winner, earning 9 more episodes. Unfortunately, the remaining three pilots and the announcement video were set to private.
What are we looking for:
The announcement video: already found myself here.
A show called Hey Sam Graham!: already found myself here.
A show called Rolly Show: private yt link here, wayback here (28 Oct 2017): Unavailable (Update Really Close)
A show called 7th & Washington: private yt link here, wayback here (14 Aug 2016): Unavailable (Update Found)
Potential lost media involving Uberdude: While all 10 of the main videos are up, the choose your own endings seem to have been privated. I'm really tired and don't feel like checking all 10 rn, but luckily both option A and B were on the wayback for atleast the first episode. ( I'll update the thread with the rest once I wake up if someone else doesn't by the time I log back in) (Update Archived)
Bonus information:
I was able to find a blog that included a short synopsis, a person's thoughts, and rating of Rolly Show and 7th & Washington
I couldn't find anything to do with Rolly Show or 7th & Washington through Googling them but it seems Hey Sam Graham! and its creator are still active and making content to this day. His channel even features a clip that ended up being in the pilot.
Closing thoughts/questions (For Now atleast):
Any thoughts on how to proceed from here?
-Perhaps we could use reverse image searching on the image from the blog and parts from the announcement video (too tired to try rn)
Do any of you remember these lost pilots?
Is there actually an entire archive of Shut Up! Cartoons and I'm dumb for making this thread? (If so lmk)
Do any of you remember any other shows that were featured on Shup Up! Cartoons and are no longer there?
I'm going to sleep I was up all night looking at this topic.
Update Regarding Uberdude endings:
While all have been set to private they have been archived and can be viewed here
1 Pilot and Huge Lead Found:
I didn't have any luck with reverse image searching however using the blog I was able to get the name of the actual episodes which helped tremendously and lead to me find both of the remaining pilots.
7th & Washington: Interesting enough the video uploaded to Shut Up! Cartoons was actually not a pilot but the 4th episode and the web show has 5 episodes on the channel. The channel is still fairly active and uploaded a 18 minute pilot to another show they're working on just 9 months ago.
Rolly Show: Also pretty interesting enough I was able to find Rolly Show on NewGrounds and it seems to have been made only a little over a month ago. I also found the Youtube channel which features the same two videos along with some shorts. However none of these these videos seem to be the actual pilot instead being brand new episodes made this year 2023 so 8 YEARS after the pilot. I dug around a bit more and still wasn't able to find it so I've decide to contact the creator and I'll make an update if he responds.
