Hi, I'm new here so apologies if I've got the wrong forum section. I've been going around online trying to find stuff about these 4kids bumpers I found as a kid. Reddit suggested that I come here.
I used to watch a show called Winx when I was a kid. Still do sometimes lol. It had many dubs one of which was 4kids. Well 4kids went bankrupt and a lot of stuff seemed to have disappeared.
4kids used to do these things that they called bumpers before and after commercial breaks where the voice actors would do various skits. One example is this one where the characters sang the national anthem. They did lots of holiday ones; like this one for Pokemon. I very distinctly remember a Valentine's Day skit involving two of the Winx Characters, Icy and Stormy. Icy was talking about how she loves getting all of the chocolates from fawning boys or something to that effect and Stormy was like, "oh please, you haven't had a boyfriend in like 10 years!"
I swear that this was real a thing but after finding absolutely nothing on it it's starting to feel like a fever dream lol. My sister remembers it too though. Unfortunately we never recorded it. I mentioned this a long time ago on a site called fanpop where a few others mentioned recalling seeing this bumper. So I don't think that I was just imagining it.
I was thinking about reaching out to the voice actresses (or someone who used to work for 4kids) to see if they even remember voicing (broadcasting) something like that. One of the voice actresses is open to contact via email but I am pretty socially awkward and wouldn't know how to approach that. So if anyone has any tips on how to send an email inquiring about lost media that would be super helpful. Like what should the email subject line be? Should it be professional sounding? And so on.
