Hello, all --

I am sorry to ask something that has undoubtedly been asked, and I am very sorry if the answer be among well-established rules that I should already know!

But at what point after posting something that goes unnoticed or unanswered may I post very much the same thing again? On the one hand, I do not wish to be a pest, but, on the other, I figure it is better to try again to notify the community about a piece of lost media than to let it be forgotten entirely. What is the rule (or rule-or-thumb)?

Bumping a topic will bring it back to the top.

I think you're fine bumping it. Really it's a matter of not spamming your own thread with something that is irrelevant to the topic that's a problem.

I bumped some of my first ever topics with no post, and the immediate moment I did it I got at least one reply. Bump the topic up after a while and it'll help tremendously.
