Actually, there are several songs like that for me, but right now I'm going to focus on one song I heard a lot when I was a younger kid in the mid-late 2000's. It was one of the songs my dad recorded, I don't know if it was on Audiovisions or not, but I'll try my best to describe how it sounded. I guess you could say it had a pretty chill vibe and it had some sort of relaxed drumbeat. Every now and then, there was an acoustic guitar strumming followed by the sound of a cuica. There might have been another instrument, maybe a harmonica, maybe something else. Sometimes you would hear a male voice singing something(I don't remember what he said) and a woman whispering what sounded to me like "pecan, pecan, pecan..." but I might have misheard her. I haven't heard this song in years (along with several others), but I was wondering if anyone else had any idea what this song could be.
You said you heard the song mid 2000 that your dad recorded. Was the song from the 2000s or older?
It was recorded sometime in the mid 2000's, but I don't know if it came out earlier than that or not. I think it could have been ambient/chill/new age. sorry, i don't know my genres very well.

I'm asking if it was RnB, Country, Indie, Soft Rock, Pop, Folk? Is there an artist/song that it sounds similar to?

I don't think it's any of those categories and I can't think of any similar artists.

I guess you could say the song had a similar vibe to this in certain ways, like the acoustic guitar and the chilled out vibe

I tried recreating the song by memory, but it didn't exactly turn out how I liked, and the chord is wrong too.
