Suspense Account is the supposed lost pilot to the Pink Panther series. I've posted this twice on /co/ over the past 6-7 months and no one seems to care about it.
Here are some interesting sources:
In The Big Cartoon Database (http://www.bcdb.com/cartoon/40674-Suspense-Account) it lists Suspense Account as the number 0 Pink Panther Cartoon.
"This Pink Panther pilot cartoon has never been shown to the public, nor has it ever been released theatrically or aired on television. This cartoon is presumed lost."
In the book "Film Cartoons: A Guide to 20th Century American Animated Features and Shorts" (https://books.google.com/books?id=ALmJCgAAQBAJ&pg=PA180&lpg=PA180&dq=suspense+account+pink+panther&source=bl&ots=TEUnK1Tm_e&sig=B9dn1M_vD0FZhX6aSUtBSksL79c&hl=el&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjYudWdgZrPAhXIPhQKHURHBtIQ6AEIJzAD#v=onepage&q=suspense%20account%20pink%20panther&f=false) it says the following:
And finally, in Omnilexica (http://www.omnilexica.com/?q=suspense+account) it states that "Suspense Account was the pilot short for the Pink Panther series and only was shown once to United Artists by David DePatie and Friz Freleng in 1964 and it was never released to theatres. It is considered a lost film, but its existence is questionable, with some suggesting that it was only a storyboard for an unproduced Pink Panther entry."
It's also mentioned on the German Pink Panther Wikipedia page (http://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Der_rosarote_Panther_(Fernsehserie)) "Der von David DePatie und Friz Freleng produzierte Pilotfilm Suspense Account wurde nie veröffentlicht."
"The David DePatie and Friz Freleng-produced pilot 'Suspense Account' was never publically released"

Hmmm, seems interesting. I'm gonna look into this.
Hi....Any more information regarding this thread about the lost Pink Panther film. Please contact me as I may have a early Pink Panther 16mm cartoon short that isn't familiar. Thx!
