Hi guys - Hope this is the appropriate forum. If you're a fan of Gorillaz, you probably have heard of the collection of long lost songs referred to as "Sea Sides", which is a fan title given to the various tracks used to advertise 2010's album Plastic Beach - some of which, such as "Crashing Down (aka Russel)" or "Rhinestone Eyes Demo (aka 2-D)" can be heard in, appropriately, the 2-D and Russel animated idents. Others have been teased on radio sessions, written interviews, and all things of the sort, but so far only a small handful of completed tracks have made it out to the public. You may have heard, for example, the version of Crashing Down that features completely different vocals, found in the credits of a documentary.
Only a few months ago, my friends and I came across a Discogs listing called "Music From the Next Album", an internal promo CD of some sort which seems to contain a number of these lost songs, including those heard in the idents. The complete tracklist (as well as what songs they actually are) is below;
We've reached out to the person who wrote these descriptions, who is also the original lister; he attempted to upload the tracks years prior to YouTube, but was stopped by copyright claims, and no longer has the rips he used. He claims not to own it anymore, but has instead sold it to a close friend/collector for something around 700 pounds - we were given that friend's email as well, but it is a dead end. The email is in fact real, but despite various messages from various people, no-one can get in contact with the CD's current owner.
The Discogs lister also provided us with these scans of the CD's packaging - which, upon some inspection, don't necessarily seem to line up with the normal EMI 2CD promo layout. Take this as you will, because I'm not entirely sure how much variety these sort of releases had.

It's hard to say if this is some odd obscure false lead - especially considering the completely silent owner and seemingly suspect scans - but a lot of details certainly add up. At the very least, it's believable, and for songs that are so sought after it's hard not to be excited.
Any help in furthering our search for this CD and it's contents would be amazing. If it's real this is the closest we've ever gotten to tracks like Mr Light or the original, full length Pirate Jet. What do you guys think? Any ideas on where to go next on this hunt?
