You joined just to say that, huh? Allow me to unpack it for you.
Lol, "a stranger". Because as we know, everyone online mostly knows each other, including in the LMW community, and discoveries have apparently only ever been made between people who know each other and also apparently never have involved money being spent. And I'm not expecting anyone to donate the full $4000, where the heck did you get that from? Each person can donate whatever they are comfortable with.
Also, I have given the reason for being vague and will do so again: talking too much about the seller and our prior two-way communications is disrespectful to the seller because they have bad anxiety and will not handle the sudden rush of publicity well, most likely to take it as being pressured or harassed.
The fact is they set a price, and until that price is met they need not be involved in anything.
Again, even if you are aware of the seller's identity you don't seem to know much about them, much less respect them. It's "hush hush" because they already set the price when they offered to sell the product to me, so there's nothing left for them to do except receive the payment.
If they make a sale listing, I guarantee it will only be among wealthy private collectors who will most likely also not care to share it online. For someone calling themselves "itsneverlost", you're quick to make a recommendation that will most likely ensure it stays lost.
Once more I say "0 risk" to the seller fails to take their mental and emotional well-being into consideration. I have shared all the details beyond the seller's identity: I approached them with an offer to purchase the item, the price settled upon was one I couldn't pay, so now I'm fundraising for that price with the promise that I will share the item online, a promise I am 100% committed to keeping since Lost Media being made public matters to me.
From what I could gather from my interactions with the seller, the fact that these episodes never aired (unlike the ones from storyboards and cels) makes this more valuable. The $4,000 price wasn't automatic, it stemmed from the seller considering each scan individually worth $100 at most.

Any further questions?
Regardless of the fact a stranger is asking for $4000 and just expecting people to donate this amount while being insanely vague about details for literally no reason

The seller is a well known Pokémon fan who's even been featured in print media, though there's no reason to be so hush hush about this.
OP is approaching this wrong and the actual seller needs to just list it for sale themselves.
If you're at all serious about this, maybe share more details and stop trying to be secretive about this. There's 0 risk posed to yourself or the seller, though selling it is probably worse than sharing it publicly.

What I don't understand is that, the seller has openly shared scans of storyboards and anime cels in the past, why is this being gatekept at such a high cost? It's a disservice to preservation and I wouldn't bother lining the pockets of either the seller or the middleman.
