I doubt anyone is going to know this by how vague my memory is with this, but thought I'd ask in the off chance. I live in the UK so this might be one of the Carlton Home Collection, Tempo Video or The Video Collection VHS tapes but I have not exactly found it yet. As a young child, in the early 90s I would guess about 1992-1993, I had a VHS tape that my mum bought for me which I think had childrens shows on it. I was in my first year of starting school at the time. One day I brought it into class at school as the teacher asked if anyone had a VHS tape we could watch the next day, and our teacher played it for everyone. I don't remember most of what was on it. I think there may have been something with Santa on it and it could have been live action? Maybe an episode of Wind and the Willows (the stop motion TV series version from the 1980s)? That is not what I am asking about though, just something that may have been on the same VHS tape or maybe a different one I am not sure now.
What I vaguely remember is there was a show (or an episode of it if it was a series at all and not just a one off) on the tape that looked like live action animation and the characters looked a bit like like stuffed toy animals like a hedgehog or squirrel and I have vague memories of them being in a house and possibly answering the front door when another character arrived but that is it. I may be mis-remembering this bit but maybe the characters were in a dimly lit hallway in the house as if it was night but maybe not.
Sorry I don't have much to go on but the memory is so vague, that is all I have. Anyone even have any ideas to what this might be?
I looked up The Secret Life of Toys on Youtube and it instantly looked familiar when I saw the bear with the button monocle and the rocking horse. I am not saying this is it, but unless there is something else that it could be, that might very well be it. I'll have to watch all the episodes to see.

I recommend you look up a list of films by Rankin/Bass because they made The Rudolph The Reindeer '64 Special, and more films in the same style. They also specialized in christmas films.

Another show you might want to check out is Under the Umbrella Tree. It had puppet characters of animals, and IIRC, largely took place in the front part of a house.

Not that. I never seen any Rankin Bass shows until a few years ago.

After looking that up, it's not that as I have never seen it before.
I have seen the Animal Shelf and used to watch it as a child but its not that. I am not finding anything else so it could be The Secret Life of Toys I was looking for. What I do know it wasn't to do with Christmas, I just have a vague memory something on the VHS tape had a live action Santa in it but maybe not related to the episode on the tape I was looking for.
Another possible show might be "Old Bear Stories". I know that was stop motion and featured stuffed animals.
I am pretty sure the show I was looking for was The Secret Life of Toys. I know Old Bear Stories and used to watch it as a child in the early 90s. I even had an Old Bear Stories book at the time.
