What is an example of someone finding lost media that was never really lost in the first place. One example is Spongebob Squarepants: Underpants Slam, where it was never really lost, just inaccessible. Many people had it downloaded on their hard drives but it wasn't available to people who wanted it but didn't have it.
Honestly, almost all lost media falls under this which makes the distinction quite useless.
_alexpine_ on discord. 2018 was HOW many years ago?!?! If RPGMakerFan12 is so good, why isn't there an RPGMakerFan13? lostmediawiki.com/User:BrightyLighty
this cartoon was seen as lost media, as nobody had a copy, and it was never aired on tv when Hokey Wolf WAS being aired.
however this cartoon never really existed, it was actually the working title for the Hokey Wolf cartoon "Bean Pod'ners" during production of the cartoon itself.

There's a bunch of shows that were never truly "lost" as they were on private trackers like TV Vault(You Can't Do That on Television comes to mind)for years before they got "found" by being publicly uploaded.
for the longest time, "Cartoons for Big Kids" was never ripped on anything until last year. it was actually easily accessible and cheap on eBay but nobody bothered.

I guess it really depends.
Recently, I came across what may be the "Now They Hear It All the Time" tinnitus PSA by way of an obscure vhs channel. There were a few comments asking if this was the ad that people were looking for iirc, and although said Redditors haven't replied or chimed in that I know of, we may never know for sure but it likely could be.
There was an odd case of a German TV series from the early 1970s named "alpha alpha". The broadcaster that commissioned and aired it claimed that it didn't exist for a while. However now it's available on DVD. (and wild, it's kinda X-Files done very German with really bad pacing. It features a Humanistic "Superhero")
