MOVIE when i was younger I borrowed a neighbors movie out of the bunch they had, I didn’t know which to pick but ended up choosing a random one when, I went home watched it and from what i can remember the quality of the movie gave me late 90s camera quality and was basically about a group of people getting stuck in a movie theater at night with a murderer. The murderer wore a mask throughout the movie similar I’d say to Jason’s. The scenes i can remember are of a jocks girlfriend running away and locking herself in a closet and i think the killer used a drill to kill her by drilling trough the door something similar like that. And it ends by no one escaping and end scene cut away of it being dark out with the doors of the movie theater being chained and locked and it’s silent with a over head view of the movie theater outside.
try Popcorn('91) or Stage Fright('87) though honestly i have my doubts, especially with the latter. i'd recommend taking this to reddit r/tipofmytongue

I watched popcorn just now there were details similar to the one I remember but it was more scary I enjoyed watching popcorn tho thank you for the recommendation and I don’t think it was stage fright
probably not what you are looking for either, because there is no movie theater, but there IS a scene with a girl hidng herself from a killer with a drill... and the drill going through a door.
it's very cheesy, but a great movie.
