Stupidest ways people claimed to have lost media they didnt

I don't think it was a joke. It was sold for actual money, on an actual eBay listing, and someone actually bought it. Someone legit scammed people with that crap.

Seconding this. For context, in the Charlie thread, we found a video that was an episode of Caillou edited with an AI voice to have "Charlie" said instead of Caillou. It wasn't real, but it also wasn't claiming to be. Xmas (Someone who was obviously very young, and likely heard about Charlie from a YouTube video and came over here not understanding exactly what lost media is) came over to the Caillou "Charlie" thread and claimed to have watched the video as a child. Because of this, they immediately claimed that the entire dub was found and started bragging about it in other threads. We started questioning them, and explaining that claiming to watch something isn't proof of anything and that it was still lost, and they went off on us, insulting us repeatedly (And though I don't want to make fun of them, I will say it was kind of funny the way the worst cursing they used was "Frick" and "Crap". I also thought it was funny that they called me "Belly Button" and called multiple people with anime avatar "Weebs") and whining throughout the thread. This went on for probably a day until a mod came in and locked down the thread for good.

I'm not too bummed that the thread is down. I'm pretty confident in saying that the dub doesn't exist, and was likely a misremembering, a dream, or some other mistake of memory. Nobody ever found any evidence that it actually existed. I already said this in the thread (though it got deleted), but my personal theory is that OP watched a Peanuts special and mistook Charlie Brown for Caillou.

For some reason I could see Paul Fusco pulling off this kind of crap.

EDIT: And John K. as well considering how much of a liar he is known to be.
