I was curb mining like i usually do every night and found some german disney vhses that were thrown out in a dumpster

some of these disney vhses may be from the soviet era of germany and it shows

i just need a modded region free or german vhs player and a capture card to rip these

heres a photo of the vhses in question

Wait Your digging in dumpsters, and finding these, and i'm going on Ebay tying to track down good condition copies of Muppet VHS Tapes! Im looking in the wrong places.

I kind of get what they're saying. There's something about the covers that look off from the versions i'm familiar with. I can't put my finger on it, but I do know is that I don't like the way alice on the Alice in Wonderland VHS looks at me. Her face looks off model from the american VHS, and I should know I own it. Also is that The Live Action Flintstones in the bottom left. There's no way best find ever.

Up until the 1980s Disney didn't bother dubbing some characters in the Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck cartoons. So you have Mickey and Donald talking English, while the rest is German. This included Chip and Dale, named A-Hörnchen and B-Hörnchen in those early German releases. However I'm not sure if they still did it when VHS releases came out.

From what I can tell, those certainly were West German releases. West Germany didn't have any "Sovjet era". The closest thing to that would have been East Germany, and AFAIK they didn't have any pre-recorded video tapes for sale or rent. (Those did exist in parts of the USSR, however)

So the movies probably are just the usual German dub. Tapes with cartoon compilations might contain a special dub that is no longer in use.
