Hello, I'm new to the community but I would appreciate help in finding this children's show I used to watch. If you can take the time to read this ans offer any leads I would appreciate it.
Please note that the mascots I'm about to described are not puppets or animatronics. They're full bodied costumes such as the like of Barney. The main character was mostly pink. And I believe he had alien/ladybug features. The second one was a robot who mostly consist of grey and blue, and I think he had a nose. And from what I recall the set in which they acted was done in the backyard of one of the kid's house.
I can't remember any particular episodes, but I know at the end of one in my head, there were alien puppets up in a spaceship looking down on the mascots. To my knowledge this show wasn't played on PBS. I remember "The General" insurance commercial playing whenever they cut to commericals. And I remember the show allowed kids to write to them and when I had sent a drawing they mailed me back a coloring page of the character. But I lost it over time and It pains me that I can't remember the name.
The show would air pretty early in the morning from what I recall too. And no, before anyone suggests this, it's not "Mr.Blobby" I apologize for rambling but that's everything I can recall. If anyone has leads please let me know and I'll try to answer any further questions!
Allow me to say that I was born in 1997 and am currently 25. So when I said I watched it when I was younger than should give a better time frame.
But no. It's not Yogabba Gabba. I'm pretty sure if you read the context of the clues I gave I mentioned the mascots were male and there was only two of them. Not to mention Gabba never took place in the back yard of a house.
It kind of sounds like it could be a locally produced show. You'd think it would be easy to track down every TV show made for kids that involves mascot costumes but after some glancing around I didn't see anything that looked like the description. What market did you live in at the time?
It may be worth looking in the direction of certain TV channels that were known to some degree of picking up either old or obscure content. I believe this applied to both the now-defunct Hub and Sprout, though when I did a quick look on past programming on both channels, I couldn't find anything on this. Still, I'm sure channels like them exist, so if you know any, it may be worth a try looking in that direction? Even if it did not originally air on one of those channels, they could have still picked it up.
This may help for easier spotting, but was the pink mascot more of a hot pink or magenta, or was he more of a lighter or pastel pink, or somewhere in between? Also, do you remember much about their body shapes? For example, was the robot more boxy?

Tell me about it. Trying to find children shows we watched growing up is tricky. You might be on to something with it being locally produce, either that or I thought maybe it was one of those British produce shows.

100% YOU SOLVED/FOUND IT! Those pictures are perfect! See how the dooly kinda gave the impression of a ladybug, but also appeared pink! And there's the robot next to him, seems I was off a bit with the colors.
But that's the show! I'm so happy you found it thank you! For the longest time I couldn't think of it and trying to Google stuff was an absolute headache. Seriously thank you so much!

You're very welcome! I'm glad I could help! I hope you have fun reliving some old memories!
Unsure if this would also be of any interest, but I found a Facebook page for the show. It seems to be inactive nowadays, but there was a coloring page for the show. I'm unsure if it could be the same one you received, but it may be nice to look at regardless.
