First, glad to be back! Been some time since I went here! Second, I want to bring up a piece of media that I cannot seem to find, nor do I even know how to actually search for! The title for this thread is merely based on the timing of when I saw it, and the characters that were present.
Okay, so in the early 2000's, let's say 2002-4, whenever I went to the movie theater, they would of course play ads for films and some local ads as well before the film began. During this, usually right before the film played, they would air a comedy-like skit that would show the characters doing everything NOT to do in a theater, with big words on the screen saying the rules (for example, one guy chatting loudly on his phone while the words "SILENCE YOUR CELL PHONE" is displayed)
For this one, it starred two adult men and a young boy, most likely age 10. There was a laugh track. Once again, they did everything wrong, but at the same time additional things were shown as bad, like "don't hit on random ladies during the climax!" and "spoilers aren't fun for everyone!" Eventually the three are escorted out, and we see an additional scene of the group in the lobby complaining, realizing fast they left their phone in the theater. Cue more laughs.
Due to the characters, I want to think it was a promotion for the new show, Two and a Half Men. Memory is hazy, but one did look like Charlie Sheen, but that could just be faulty remembrance. Since I was young, I had no idea that was a show, wouldn't recognize the logo, and hell, I didn't even know of the show until 2007!
Whatever this advert was, I cannot find anywhere online. I checked early episodes of the show out, but couldn't find anything from my memories in them. So far, drawing blanks.
If necessary, the theater was a "Showcase Cinemas" in case they held any specific promotions. Does anybody know what I'm talking about? Thank you for your time.
