This is a long shot, and very unlikely to get solved I think because of lack of detail, but I was talking about jack'o lanterns with my friend today and it unearthed a very old memory. Some old computer game I had as a kid. Maybe a companion to a book? I'm not sure. A dog might have been involved. This wasn't a flash game. This was I think something you'd get on a cd. It had a setting of a nice town I believe. There was a fun mini game with pumpkins. I think the view was the outside of a nice house that was white.
You could customize each feature of a jack o lantern, I think including stuff like cat eyes and all different features. I don't remember much else but maybe there was a part of the game where a dog caused some mischief. I have very very vague memories and even the book thing might be a red herring because the memories are so vague. I think the setting was a beautiful town.
