In the late 2000s, I remember watching this obscure Flash animated film. When I say film, I mean an actual movie, not just a YouTube or New Grounds vid. There was an official trailer for it and a DVD.
It boasted about being a one of the first (or second) full length films to be animated in Adobe Flash. The movie was made by a small production team and I think they mentioned something about taking several years to make.
Plot:
It took place in a post-apocalypse desert. The main characters were two orphans, a boy and a girl, probably teenagers and I think one of them was Latino. The villain was some evil master mind who looked sort of like Solomon from Sym-Bionic Titan. I remember there being robots which I think were rendered in 3D but with a flat shading on them. The bad guy was after the kids because the boy had this macguffin which was a necklace with a rectangular charm on it.
I remember the animation looking like basic Flash animation tho in some parts were impressive for the time. I remember the character designs were sort of weird, like they had these big cartoony eyes and button noses yet their bodies looked more realistic.
I originally learned about the film from a print version of Animation Magazine. I no longer have the issue but I do know they do repost some of their articles online. The image used in the magazine was a close up of a hand holding the necklace. I watched the film through someone reuploading it to YouTube (probably without permission from the creator).
